SNELLVILLE (TNS) — A homeowner allegedly shot and killed a man accused of trying to break into a Snellville home.

The man was found on the roof of the home Friday, Gwinnett County police Cpl. Deon Washington said.

Police are investigating the incident, which began shortly before 4 a.m. on the 3500 block of Hadley Place. Police told Channel 2 Action News the incident began at the back of the home.

The homeowner heard an intruder, got a gun and fired at the man. Gunfire erupted, and the man trying to escape attempted to climb through the home’s window, where he was shot and left on the home’s roof.
