Albany Police discover body on East Broad Avenue late Sunday night

ALBANY — The body of a gunshot victim was discovered late Sunday night on the 1000 block of East Broad Avenue, according to the Albany Police Department.
“Albany police officers responded to the scene at approximately 10:51 p.m. (Sunday) after being dispatched by the 911 Communication Center,” said APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks. “When they arrived, 24-year-old Justin Jimere King was discovered about 100 yards away from the road, lying near the railroad tracks.
“King was fatally wounded in the upper body by a gunshot. Coroner Michael Fowler says an autopsy will help determine further.”
According to Banks, there are no known witnesses or suspects at this time.
“The case is active and has been turned over to the Albany Police Department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit for further investigation,” Banks said.
