ALBANY — An armed robbery reported to have taken place Saturday evening in East Albany remains under investigation, reports from the Albany Police Department show.

APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said the incident took place at 500 Pinson Road, No. D7, at around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday. The victim, a 22-year-old woman, told police she was walking through the breezeway at her apartment building when an unknown man wearing a black mask approached her, pointed a handgun at her and demanded money.

Banks said the victim told officers that she gave him cash before the man fled the scene on foot. There were no witnesses immediately identified.

The case was forwarded to the APD Detective Bureau, she said.
