ALBANY — Albany League Baseball, formerly Albany Dixie League, opened it’s 2017 season Saturday at Dixie Field. The league is a Dizzy Dean Baseball-affiliated baseball league featuring two futures divisions (ages 3-4) teams, six tee-ball (5-6) teams, six pee-wee (7-8) teams, five minor league (9-10) teams, and four major league (11-12) teams.
This year, 270 area youths are participating in the nonprofit league, which relies on player registration and sponsorship donations to maintain six fields, including Lake Park Field, the Sherwood Field, Dixie Field and the fields at the Ken Garden complex.
