ALBANY — While several physicians and affiliate staff applicants, or mid-level providers, seek privileges at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, consideration is being given to the delineation of privileges for three tracks of patient care, a recent credentials report noted.

Delineation of privileges was discussed for pediatric pulmonary telemedicine, intraoperative remote neuro monitoring and pediatric anesthesiology specific to ductus ateriousus ligation. The delineation forms, presented to Phoebe’s Professional Affairs Committee on Monday, are meant to specifically outline for each specialty the qualifications for performing procedures and under which circumstances they are to be used.

The delineations were recommended for approval by the committee to the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, who will have the final vote.

Five physicians are looking to come on board at Phoebe. Four of them are locum tenens, which means they are coming in temporarily to fill in for someone else, the report presented to the Professional Affairs Committee said.

Dr. Emilio Antonetti is coming in for OB/GYN specialist Dr. Paul Payne; Dr. David Floyd is seeking to come on for neurosurgeon Dr. Kim Brown; internist Dr. David Schulte is asking to be a fill-in at Albany Area Primary Health Care, while Dr. A.B.M. Saluh Uddin is filling in at Phoebe Nuerosurgery.

The report showed that Dr. Norman Eugene Jones, a radiologist, is the physician seeking to come in on a more permanent basis.

Five affiliate staff applicants are under consideration with the required physician sponsor. Kendra Armstrong is coming in for gastroenterologist Dr. James Griffith; Emmanuel Eyefia is being sponsored by internist Dr. Ignatius Ohamadike; Lisa Gowan is working in Southwest Georgia Obstetrics and Gynecology; Kristen Montgomery is set to work in maternal and fetal medicine with Dr. Michael Edwards, and Terese Truax is set to work in pediatrics with Dr. Rupert Dyer, the report said.

The report also listed 18 medical staff members under resignations and retirements, including one retirement and 12 others whose privileges have expired. Infectious disease specialist Dr. Carlos Franco-Paredes, who recently accepted a position outside of Georgia, is among those leaving.

The resignation of Franco-Paredes is effective April 21. Radiologist Dr. Brendan Miner is undergoing reappointment, and urologist Dr. William Kelvin Lane is taking a 12-month leave of absence, the report said.

The report was presented to the Credentials and Bylaws Committee on Feb. 27, and the Medical Executive Committee on March 7. It was recommended for approval by the Professional Affairs Committee and is set to go before a final vote before the hospital’s Board of Directors.
