ATLANTA — Visitors to the state capital who were recovering today from turkey-day overeating and were fed up with Black Friday ads found a different way to enjoy their Thanksgiving holiday.

Many took advantage of Zoo Atlanta’s discounted one-day-only ticket offer on “Black-and-White Friday,” checking in on the zoo’s giant panda twins Ya Lun and Xi Lun.

The twins, who turned 1 on Sept. 3, are the only giant panda twins in the U.S. Their latest milestones include more frequent explorations of their outdoor habitat at The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation Giant Panda Conservation Center, as well as sampling larger quantities of the staple of the giant panda diet: bamboo. The twins and their parents, Lun Lun and Yang Yang, are ambassadors for Zoo Atlanta’s most significant long-term investment in wildlife conservation.

Visitors to the zoo today also had the opportunity to sign up for Zoo Atlanta’s Cyber Weekend Gift Membership Offer, valid from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, during which visitors received two bonus single-day general admission tickets with purchase of a Zoo Atlanta gift membership gift card.

Zoo Atlanta is located at 800 Cherokee Ave. SE.
