ALBANY —‘Tis the season to look out for funny money.

Dougherty County police were working a counterfeiting case Sunday after a clerk at 4405 Acree Ave., the location of County Line Grocery at the eastern end of Dougherty County, reported that a unknown white male had attempted to purchase some items around 10:39 p.m. Saturday with a bogus $100 bill.

“The suspect fled the scene when the clerk advised that she was calling the police,” A DCPD summary said. “The counterfeit bill was entered into evidence.”
