ATLANTA — Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is announcing that She Leads will be hosting its first webinar of the new year, “One-Stop Shop: SOS Licensing, Corporations, Securities/Charities.” This free webinar will take place on Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. Registration is free and open to all Georgians.

The Georgia Secretary of State’s office is a one-stop shop for growing small businesses. Corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships in Georgia are formed by filing with the Corporations Division. The Licensing Division handles applying for, renewing, and printing licenses. The agency also provides administrative support to 42 licensing boards overseeing various skilled trades and professions.

The Securities Division regulates securities activity statewide and protects against investment fraud and promotes financial literacy. The Charities Division will help with starting, registering, renewing, reinstating, withdrawing or amending a charitable organization.

The division directors of SOS Licensing, Corporation and Securities/Charities will provide details about their division and walk prospects through the sos.ga.gov website for all small business needs.

“Our agency is here to walk alongside you throughout your path to entrepreneurship,” Raffensperger said. “We encourage all Georgians to take advantage of the tools and resources offered by our office. We’re here to help.”

The event will be moderated by Shardéa Ages, co-founder and senior wealth advisor at Collective Wealth Partners. Speakers for the free webinar include Wanda Jaffe, deputy director of Georgia Secretary of State’s Professional Licensing Division; Anika M. Walker, director of the Georgia Secretary of State’s Corporations Division, and Noula Zaharis, assistant commissioner of Securities and the director of the Georgia Secretary of State’s Securities & Charities Division.

She Leads is a financial empowerment seminar series hosted by the Secretary of State’s office as part of his multifaceted financial literacy effort and is administered through the Securities and Charities divisions of the office. These free webinars feature industry leaders who discuss resources that can help increase attendees’ knowledge about money, their relationship to money, and financial issues and strategies for growing their wealth.
