AMERICUS — Americus Police Department officials said they have another suspect in custody, charged in the death of Tiffany Marie Matice.
Brian Eric Clark, 33, of Cordele was charged with felony murder by Americus police in the ongoing investigation into the death of Matice.
Americus police officers responded to a call on Dec. 19 at approximately 5:17 p.m. on the 700 block of Wheatley Street for an unconscious person. Officers found Matice, 27, deceased from an apparent overdose.
After investigating the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death, officers charged Michael Eugene Newell, 31, with felony murder for felonious actions that led to Matice’s death. Both suspects are currently being held in the Sumter County Jail.
