Georgia Bureau of Investigation conducting death investigation in Tift County
Body of 18-year-old found in a vehicle in Tifton Thursday morning

TIFTON — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced that it is looking into the death of an 18-year-old found in Tifton late last week.
The GBI said in a news release that, at 10:51 a.m. Thursday, Tift County 911 received a call in reference to a deceased person found inside a vehicle in a wooded area off of Emerson O’Bynes Avenue in Tifton. The Tift County Sheriff’s Office responded and discovered Kenyada Mitchell, 18, of Tift County, dead inside the vehicle.
The GBI said the case is being investigated as a homicide at this point by its agency as well as the Tift sheriff’s office.
