BOYS

1.) Monroe 15-0

The Tornadoes stay on their roll with wins against Perry and Cairo, and then a tough victory at No. 3 Terrell County on Saturday night in Dawson. Next: vs. Worth County, today, 7:30 p.m.

2.) Westover 14-1

Coach Dallis Smith’s Patriots seem to have recovered from that loss against Monroe just more than a week ago just fine. The Patriots have responded by winning three in a row since. Next: vs. Cairo, today, 7:30 p.m.

3.) Bainbridge 12-4

The Bearcats played only one game, but it was an 11-point win against an upstart Pelham team. Bainbridge was led by Davario Thomas with 17 points, Next: At Americus-Sumter Friday, 7:30 p.m.

4.) Terrell County 12-4

The Greenwave still deserve to be classified as one of The Herald’s top teams after Class A Terrell County put a huge scare into Class AAA Monroe, which tops the poll. Next: Vs. Calhoun County, today, 7:30 p.m.

5.) Deerfield-Windsor 14-1

The Knights dominated all three of their opponents last week, beating Brookwood by 63 points, Tattnall Square by 26 and Stratford by 14 . Next: Vs. At Southland, today, 8 p.m.

GIRLS

1.) Bainbridge 15-2

A lineup change resulted in a 2-0 record last week. Alexis Burke was clutch, and got plenty of help from teammates such as April Thomas and Takeia Crankfield . Next: At Americus-Sumter, Friday, 6 p.m.

Jessica Clinton and Daquenna Moore had big roles during wins against Seminole County and Calhoun County last week, helping star Lindsey Crawford. Next: vs. Thomas County Central, Friday, 7 p.m.
