ALBANY — The Albany State University Student Government Association and Albany Criterion Club will jointly host a candidates’ debate at ASU’s Billy C. Black Auditorium Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The debate will feature candidates running for the Ward II, Ward III and Ward V seats on the Albany City Commission. Nine candidates — three in each ward — have qualified to run for the commission seats in the Nov. 2 municipal election.

Officials with the New Georgia Project will be on hand to register voters.

The debate had been scheduled for last Thursday but was rescheduled the day of the planned debate because of scheduling conflicts among some candidates.
