LEESBURG – Lee County Head Coach Dean Fabrizio said Wednesday morning that Friday night’s game with defending 5A state champion Coffee has been postponed because of lingering effects from Hurricane Helene.
The game will be played on October 11. A social media post announced that any tickets already purchased through GoFan would be honored on October 11.
The city of Douglas and Coffee County still have many areas without water and power so the Coffee football program has said it will be unable to compete Friday night.
The GHSA is putting together a plan to move the state playoffs back a week to accommodate schools who are unable to compete because of the hurricane.
