City of Thomasville hosts public hearing on five-year plan

THOMASVILLE — The city of Thomasville will host a public hearing for its Comprehensive Plan Five-Year Update Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the Thomasville Municipal Building located at 144 East Jackson St.

Thomasville Blueprint 2028 was adopted in 2018 as the city’s comprehensive plan. The plan provides a long-range vision for the city’s growth and development and requires a major update every 10 years. Jurisdictions within Georgia also must provide a minor plan update to the Department of Community Affairs every five years, and this year, Thomasville Blueprint 2028 is due for its five-year update.

The five-year update will review Thomasville’s progress and accomplishments to date and encourage a community conversation about the next five years of plan implementation.

The upcoming public hearing is the first of several public engagement opportunities planned as part of the 2023 Comprehensive Plan Five Year Update process for Thomasville Blueprint 2028.

For those unable to attend the public hearing, a virtual meeting via Zoom is also planned. Both meeting options are listed below:
