It’s going to be a musical weekend in southwest Georgia, with festivals featuring musical acts in Americus, Sylvester and Thomasville, and the Albany Symphony Orchestra is opening its 60th season with Jemes Bond movie tunes with “Sounds of 007.”

When: Friday, starts at 7:30 p.m.Where: Albany Municipal Auditorium, 200 N. When: Saturday, starts at 6:30 p.m.Where: Albany Municipal Auditorium.Join the Albany Symphony Orchestra for the opening of its 60th Anniversary season and hear the sounds behind the man – James Bond. When: Friday and Saturday.Where: Jefford’s Park, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 82 and Georgia Highway 33.The 69th annual Georgia Peanut Festival kickes off with a 7 p.m. festival preview night at Jefford’s Park with music by the Kinchafoonee Cowboys.On Saturday the day starts at 8 a.m. in the park, wkth the parade beginning at 10 a.m. in downtown Sylvester. Musical performances will continue at the park with live music from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. including the Page Brothers Band and La’Travious Aikens, Worth County Middle and High School Chorus and other local artists. When: Saturday, 4 p.m.-10 p.m.Where: Ritz Amphithreater, 131 S. Stevens St., Thomasville.Hosted by Halcyon Home for Battered Women, the Music Fest aims to bring people together, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.
