Albany golf course may be auctioned

The Westover Lady Patriots flexed their offensive firepower in one game and battled to the final possession in another Tuesday afternoon, splitting a pair of summer basketball contests at Monroe High School’s final home playdate of the summer.

Most coaches don’t walk out of a gym encouraged after watching their team lose twice in the same afternoon.

Summer basketball victories don’t show up in the standings, but for Monroe head coach Michael Hoffpauir, Monday’s 66-44 win over Thomas County Central offered another encouraging sign that the Tornadoes’ next generation is beginning to find its footing.
