Chevers, Parker earn SIAC Player of the Week honors

ALBANY — It was a week of big swings and even bigger production for Albany State, and the conference took notice.
Golden Rams outfielder Arin Chevers and Lady Golden Rams standout Tranasia Parker were both named SIAC Players of the Week after delivering dominant performances at the plate in conference play.
For Chevers, a redshirt freshman and Westover High School graduate, the honor comes on the heels of a breakout series against Lane that showcased both power and consistency.

Chevers hit .556 for the week, going 5-for-9 with three home runs, a double and eight RBI. He scored five runs, drew three walks and posted a staggering 1.667 slugging percentage along with a .714 on-base percentage.
More importantly, his production came in key moments, helping fuel Albany State’s offense and spark scoring rallies throughout the series.
On the softball side, Parker continued her impressive freshman campaign with a dynamic showing against Edward Waters.

The Jones County High School product went 6-for-9 (.667) at the plate, scoring six runs and driving in four while anchoring the Lady Golden Rams’ offense. Parker added two home runs, drew a walk and finished the week with a 1.333 slugging percentage and a .727 on-base percentage.
Her performance helped Albany State continue its strong season, with the Lady Golden Rams sitting at 21-6 overall.
