There’s still another two weeks before the Labor Day weekend, when summer traditionally ends and the rush to the end-of-year holidays kicks off, so find something to do this weekend in southwest Georgia before the pace picks up.

When: Saturday, starts at 4 p.m.Where: Tift Theatre, 320 S. Main St., Tifton.Tift-Con is a cosplay event in which participants wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character. Favorite sources include anime, cartoons, comic books, manga, television series, rock music performances and video games.Exhibitors include The Zone, Gray Ghost Comics and S.E.T.S. cards, games and hobbies. When: Friday, gates open at 5 p.m., pit gates open at 4 p.m. Hot laps start at 7 p.m., races at 8:30 p.m.Where: Needmore Speedway, 1060 John Vickers Road, Norman Park.The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series is making its debut at Needmore Speedway, with a night of racing super-late model cars.Admission: $15 for adults, kids 12 and under free.
