Lee County Chamber hosts 33rd annual awards dinner

LEESBURG — The Lee County Chamber of Commerce held its 33rd annual awards dinner last week at the Bindery at Oakland Library. More than 250 people, including city, county and state dignitaries, attended the annual dinner.

The chamber staff hosted the “Top Gun” event.

Award inners this year included:

♦ Man of the Year: Code Enforcement Marshal and Rivers Alive Leader Jim Wright;

♦ Woman of the Year: Director of the Lee County Library Claire Leavy;

♦ Business of the Year: Concrete Enterprises;

♦ Nonprofit of the Year: Liberty House;

♦ Partner in Education: Debbie Devane;

♦ Partner in Agriculture: Future Farmers of America advisors Frank Farbotko, Rebecca Sapp, Ashley Perl, Sierra Andrews.

Two Lifetime Achievement Awards were also presented. Sandra Parker accepted the posthumous award for her late husband, Albany Technical College President Anthony Parker.

Also receiving a lifetime achievement award was Leesburg City Councilman Bob Wilson, for his 42 years of dedicated service to that community.

A proclamation from Gov. Brian Kemp was read to honor Wilson.
