COLQUITT – Murder is on the menu at the monthly potluck meeting of the Patmos Ladies Club, at least in the new stage play “Deep Fried Murder” at Cotton Hall Theater.

“Deep Fried Murder” is the latest of Colquitt’s mystery plays written directly for the stage at Cotton Hall. It sold out so quickly that the theater has added a special additional performance at 6 p.m. Saturday with a special price of $20.

“This is one of the funniest shows that I’ve ever been a part of,” cast member Grace Anne Henley said. “We’ve had so many laughs working on it, so I’m thrilled that even more people will now get to see it and laugh along with us.”

The newly added show won’t include a meal but will include the opportunity to savor some of Cotton Hall’s famous popcorn. And it’s not just the audience having a blast but the cast of all volunteer local actors having a ball as well.

“Being a part of this show has been one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had,” cast member Stephanie Andrews said. “This group of truly hilarious women will show why you can’t eat in everyone’s kitchen. The biggest challenge for me has been making it through each scene without cracking up at my fellow castmates. ‘Deep Fried Murder’ will make you laugh until your face hurts.”

The production will run Saturday, Sunday, as well as Aug., 22, and 23 at the Cotton Hall Theater. Tickets are available by calling the Box Office at (229) 758-5450 or online at www.swampgravy.com.
