TIFTON — Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College’s First Tuesday concert on Oct. 1 will feature classical music performed by Fine Arts Department Chair Jennifer Huang and friends.

“We would like to invite the community to come and enjoy an evening of elegant classical solos and ensemble music,” Huang said. ”This recital will showcase the beauty of shining jewels with virtuoso technique and unique musical interpretation.”

Huang will perform on piano, with Christopher Walker performing on saxophone and Kenneth Trimmins performing on trumpet. The program will consist of pieces by composers Robert Schumann, Seymour Barab and Barbara York.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in Howard Auditorium.

Other events in the series include the Georgia College and State University string orchestra on Nov. 5; cellist Tomoko Fujita and pianist Luba Poliak on Feb. 4; musicians Maila and David Springfield take the stage on March 4; and “The Songs of Broadway!” closes out the First Tuesday series on April 1.

The First Tuesday Performing Arts Series, which debuted in 2002, features regional professional artists on the first Tuesday of every month. Concerts are free of charge, no ticket required. For more information, contact First Tuesday Program Director Huang at (229) 391-4943 or [email protected].
