ALBANY — Each year, the Junior League of Albany engages its community’s families and children with a signature event called “Kids In the Kitchen.” The goal of the event is to encourage kids and families to get in the kitchen to make healthy meals and to teach children the importance of diet, exercise, and healthy living.

Kids in the Kitchen is a free event, and all are welcome to enjoy this wholesome family experience. In recent years, the Junior League has been able to serve about 200 kids at the event.

This year’s event, scheduled for Feb. 10, will be held on site at the Dillard’s Entrance at the Albany Mall from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

“We’re so grateful for the support of our community and sponsors as we prepare to host our annual Kids in the Kitchen event,” Junior League of Albany President Erin Monahan said in a news release. “We love seeing children and families gather together for inspiration on healthy living.”

Event highlights include:

● Demonstration by Flint River Fresh

● Arts & Crafts

● Face Painting

● Zumba

● Safety Station

● Dental Health Station
