ASHBURN — The 2023 Fire Ant Nationals lawn mower race is looking for racers.

This year’s contest is scheduled for March 23 at the Turner County Elementary School rear parking lot.

Signup and entry deadline is 10 a.m. the day of the race. The entry fee is $25. Prize money is based on the number of entries.

Lawn mores are stock or modified. Teams will choose the category when they enter.

The race schedule is:

♦ 11 a.m.: Check-in and pit assignments. Enter the front of TCES and go through the gate between the school and the TC Health Department.

♦ Noon: Drivers meeting at the starting line.

♦ 12:30-1:30 p.m.: Mower inspections begin in individual pits

♦ 1:30 p.m.: Practice will be single mower runs. After individual mowers pass inspection, they can practice. No racing at this time.

♦ 3 p.m.: Double -elimination bracket races. Each Class will race by round before progressing to the next round.
