Ossoff introduces $64 million infrastructure security bill for Albany Marine base

ALBANY — U.S Sen. Jon Ossoff is introducing legislation to upgrade national security infrastructure at Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany.
This week, Ossoff introduced legislation to authorize construction of a new consolidated communication facility at the Albany Marine base.
Last year, Ossoff delivered funding through the bipartisan government funding package for the project. Now, he is introducing the MCLB-Albany Innovation Act to authorize the next step in construction for the facility.
The new facility will support the Marine Corps Logistics Command (LOGCOM)’s innovation efforts within the realm of robotics and industrial technology, consolidating all data centers into one facility supporting all tenant hosting requirements and related controls, increasing IT’s capacity to Production Plant Albany.
“I’m working to upgrade the Marine Corps Logistics Base’s communications facilities to strengthen national security and support this vital Georgia installation,” Ossoff said in a news release.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, This Act may be cited as the ‘‘MCLB Albany Innovation Act.’’
AUTHORIZATION OF AMOUNTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A CONSOLIDATED COMMUNICATION FACILITY AT MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS BASE-ALBANY, GEORGIA.
There is authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary of Defense for Fiscal Year 2025 $64,100,000 for the construction of a consolidated communication facility at Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany, Georgia.
