ALBANY — Benny was having a rough go of things, but life’s looking up for him.

It’ll be even better if he gets a new home.

Benny was brought to the Albany Humane Society shelter after he was picked up by animal control officers. The 2-year-old beagle/terrier mix tested positive for heart worms, but has been treated for them with ivermectin since April

Humane Society officials say Benny is likely a better fit for an individual or family who doesn’t have another dog in the household.

“He’s very playful and friendly,” a Humane Society official said. ” He loves hugs and likes children. Benny needs a large yard because he loves to run. He may not get along with other dogs, but he is great with people.”

To adopt Benny or any of the dogs and cats looking for permanent homes with good families, call the Albany Humane Society at (229) 888-7387 during business hours of 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays. Visit the Albany Humane Society website at www.albanyhumanesociety.com.
