Albany Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, an official auxiliary of the Air Force, meets at 7 p.m. Monday at Southwest Georgia Regional Airport. The squadron is recruiting volunteers. REUNIONS
Plans for the first Smithville Academy Reunion are being finalized. The event, marking the 45th anniversary of the school’s first graduating class, will be at 11 a.m. June 4 at the Anchored Flint at Lake Blackshear. PAGEANTS
The 2016 Miss Southwest County Forestry Pageant will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Whigham Elementary School auditorium, Whigham. Pageant is open to contestants from all Southwest Georgia counties. Age divisions are Baby Miss: birth-23 months; Teeny Miss, 2-3 years; Tiny Miss, 4-6; Little Miss, 7-9; Junior Miss, 10-12; Teen Miss, 13-16 years, and Miss, 17-24. No pageant experience is required. Winners have entry fees paid as the Southwest County representatives to the 77th annual Miss Georgia Forestry Pageant, set for this summer in Tifton.
