ALBANY — The second of six half-day workshops in the 2019 New Georgia Economy Series will be conducted May 21 at Albany State University.
The Georgia Chamber of Commerce is conducting the series in partnership with local chamber organizations. The workshops will provide “unique insights on the emerging business trends and risks, and the impact to small businesses, innovation and entrepreneurship that the state faces,” state chamber officials said.
“The Georgia Chamber is proud to partner with our local chambers to help small businesses around the state prepare for the New Georgia Economy by launching this new half-day workshop with local and state experts,” Georgia Chamber President/CEO Chris Clark said.
Chamber officials said the workshops are designed to take advantage of Georgia’s emerging economy and help businesses prepare for the changes by providing an opportunity for small business owners to hear from experts about a wide range of topics. Those topics include big data and security, talent and leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation, global commerce and competitiveness, advanced corporate and university research and development, and physical infrastructure and assets.
Small businesses will have the opportunity to better prepare for the developing trends in the economy as well as mitigate the risks, chamber officials say.
The series opens April 25 at Georgia Highlands College in Cartersville. After the Albany workshop, the series continues at the University of Georgia in Athens on May 23, Central Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins on June 18 and The Newnan Centre in Newnan on June 25. The series concludes June 27 at the Georgia Cyber Center in Augusta.
