TIFTON — TyTy-based promoter Austin McAlpin has already secured a pre-Thanksgiving treat for South Georgia music fans. Now he’s throwing in a little something for Christmas.

McAlpin Entertainment and Bell Plantation are bringing Grammy-nominated country music star John Berry to the Tift Theater for a show Dec. 22. McAlpin, along with Conyers-based Six String Southern Promotions and Tifton country radio station WTIF, scheduled an intimate show with Deana Carter at the Tift on Nov. 11. Berry is a former Tifton resident.

South Carolina native Berry, whose hits include the chart-topping “Your Love Amazes Me,” will perform with his full band in a 7 p.m. show at the historic downtown Tifton venue. His career includes 19 songs that charted in the country Top 40, including six other Top 10s: “What’s In It for Me?” “You and Only You,” “Standing on the Edge of Goodbye,” “I Think About It All the Time,” “Change My Mind” and “She’s Taken a Shine.”

Carter, who claimed two Country Music Association awards for her mega-hit “Strawberry Wine” and has Grammy nominations from 1998 and 2012, has 14 charting singles in her career and a five-times platinum album, “Did I Shave My Legs for This?” Three of her songs, “Strawberry,” “We Danced Anyway” and “How Do I Get There,” topped the country charts.
