CARTER SCHEDULE
President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to teach Sunday school on Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church, 148 Georgia Highway 45 North, Plains. The Sunday school class starts at 10 a.m. and is preceded by an orientation period at 9 a.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. CONCERT
Sherwood Baptist Church, 2201 Whispering Pines Road, Albany, will host a free concert at 6 p.m. Sunday featuring platinum-selling contemporary Christian artist and 18-time Dove Award nominee Mark Schultz. Schultz is best known for No. 1 hit songs such as “I Am” and “Remember Me.” He also has won a Dove Award for his “Live … A Night of Stories & Songs” project. A love offering will be taken for the artist.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Lifehouse Ministries will conduct its eighth annual fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the University of Georgia Conference Center in Tifton. Scripture Searchers Sunday School Class will conducts its second Women’s Conference 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 4 at Ashburn First Baptist Church. The theme is “Becoming a Vessel of Honor,” based on 2 Timothy 2:21. Speakers are Dorothy Deming of Ashburn and Karen Griffin of Tifton, with music by Ann Brady of Valdosta. SPECIAL SERVICES
Morningside United Methodist Church, 121 S. Mock Road, Albany will celebrate its 65th homecoming at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 15. The Rev. Tom Davis Jr. will bring the morning message. Fellowship time is at 10:30 a.m., and at 11 a.m. there will be a covered-dish dinner in the fellowship hall.
New Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 200 Wells Ave. in Albany, is having a Pastoral Appreciation Celebration for Pastor Matthew Watkins and Elect Lady Nicole Watkins at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Culminating services will be at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 22.
