Foo Fighters christen Georgia State Stadium during inaugural concert
The Foo Fighters played the first ever concert at Georgia State Stadium Saturday night and did not disappoint the nearly 30,000 fans.
Formerly Turner Field, Georgia State University took ownership of Georgia State Stadium in January 2017. They converted the stadium to a football stadium and opened it last August.
The Foo Fighters are on the road as part of their Concrete and Gold North American Tour. They pulled out originals for the “old school” fans from their 1995 debut album to their most recent album and everything in between.
Opening for the Foo Fighters was The Struts, an English rock band.
Director of Athletics at Georgia State, Charlie Cobb, previously said that this would be the first of many concerts at the stadium.
