SOUR CREAM

COFFEE CAKE

This is part of a series of previous Holiday Flavors recipes that are being reprinted leading up to next month’s 2015 edition.

What you need …

2 cups plain flour

2 eggs

8 oz. sour cream

pinch of salt

2 sticks soft margarine

2 cups sugar

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

What you do …

Cream margarine and sugar. Add eggs one at a time.

Sift flour and baking powder. Add alternately to creamed mixture with sour cream. Add vanilla.

Grease Bundt pan. Pour half the batter into pan. Sprinkle mixture with pecans and 3 tablespoons sugar. Add remainder of batter.

Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
