APRIL 24

Garcia’s Mexican Food/Mobile Unit, 3331 Sylvester Road

Score: 92

Notes: Observed no Certified Food Safety Manager certificate. PIC will bring the certificate to the office when she receives it in the mail; new violation. Observed no vomiting/fecal cleanup procedure in the mobile unit. PIC was given another copy of the procedure; new violation.

Taqueria La Mexicana/Mobile Unit, 2205 E. Broad Ave.

Score: 87

Notes: Observed PHF being held above 41 degrees Fahrenheit. PIC placed PHF on the freezer; new violation. Observed temperature measuring device for the refrigerator not working properly. PIC will replace the thermometer in the refrigerator; new violation. Observed refrigerator ambient air temperature not at 41 degrees or below. PIC will have the refrigerator serviced; new violation.

Burger King, 2411 Dawson Road

Culinary Arts/Logistics Education Center, Albany Technical College, 1704 S. Slappey Blvd., Building K

Notes: Observed no procedure for employees to follow when responding to vomiting or diarrheal events that involve the discharge of vomitus or fecal matter onto surfaces in the food establishment. PIC was given a procedure for cleaning vomit; corrected on-site, new violation.

Pruitt Health Palmyra, 1904 Palmyra Road

Notes: Observed ice machine interior not clean to sight and touch. PIC will have ice machine cleaned and sanitized; new violation. Observed three-compartment sink chemical sanitizer not at the proper concentration. PIC refilled three-compartment sink with the proper concentration of QUAT sanitizer solution; corrected on-site, new violation. Observed vegetable sink used for the purpose of warewashing. PIC removed containers from the sink and will have the sink sanitized before washing vegetables; corrected on-site, new violation.

McDonald’s, 2615 Dawson Road

Notes: Observed no procedure for responding to vomit or fecal incidents on file at the facility. Gave PIC another copy of the vomit/fecal incident form, corrected on-site, new violation.

Sleep Inn/Food Service, 1525 Dawson Road

Score: 82

Notes: Observed handwashing sink not provided with individual, disposable towels. PIC will provide handsink with disposable towels; new violation. Observed time/temperature control for safety foods (butter and cream cheese) not maintained at 41 degrees Fahrenheit or below. PIC discarded TCS foods; corrected on-site, repeat violation. Observed food (boxes of cereal packages) not protected from contamination by storing at least 6 inches above the floor. PIC removed items from the floor; corrected on-site, new violation.

Newman’s Bar & Grill, 2807 Meredyth Drive

Notes: Observed no clean-up procedure for response to vomit/fecal incidents on file at the facility. Gave PIC another copy of the form; corrected on-site, new violation. Observe TCS foods in the prep coolers and walk-in coolers that were not being maintained at 41 degrees Fahrenheit. See temp log. PIC discarded items; corrected on-site, new violation.

Zaxby’s of Albany, 405 N. Slappey Blvd.

Notes: Observed boxes of chicken not protected from contamination by storing the food at least 6 inches above the floor. PIC moved the food items to shelves; corrected on-site, new violation.

Health Hut, 2345 Lake Park Drive

Score: 93

Notes: Observed employee rinsing a utensil in the hand sink so the sink was being used for purposes other than washing hands. Discussed only using hand sink for washing hands with PIC; new violation. Observed wiping cloths that were not stored in chemical sanitizer solution during periods of non-use. PIC placed the cloths in chlorine sanitizer solution; corrected on-site, new violation.
