ALBANY — Lee County native Luke Bryan will help Charlie Daniels celebrate his 80th birthday at Daniels’ Volunteer Jam set for Nov. 30.

Bryan, the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, was announced Monday to be joining Chris Stapleton, Kid Rock, Larry the Cable Guy and Travis Tritt to celebrate with Daniels at the 41st anniversary event at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Bryan, with hits including “Country Girl (Shake It For Me),” “Drunk on You” and “Play It Again,” is one of the biggest names in country music.

“This year, I will celebrate two milestones, my 80th birthday and the Volunteer Jam,” Daniels said in a statement on his website. “It’s pretty amazing that we’re both alive and kicking and still going strong. Ain’t it good to be alive and be in Tennessee!”

A portion of the proceeds from Volunteer Jam will go to the The Journey Home Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit co-founded by Daniels and manager David Corlew to help veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. More information on the project can be found at thejourneyhomeproject.org.

Bryan is currently performing in his “Kill the Lights Tour,” which has had sold-out dates at Wrigley Field on Saturday and at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, where he was the first musical artist to perform at the new home of the Minnesota Vikings.

Since the debut of his first album in 2007, Bryan has had 16 singles reach No. 1 and sold nearly 8 million albums, with 30 million digital tracks from his five studio albums. He has twice been named Entertainer of the Year by both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association.
