These establishments were inspected Nov. 6-12 by the Environmental Health offices in Dougherty, Lee, Baker, Terrell, Worth, Mitchell and Calhoun counties. To contact the health office, call (229) 438-3943.

DOUGHERTY

NOV. 6

Carter’s Banquet Facilities, 317 Highland Ave.

Score: 93 Grade: A

Violations: Observed no CFSM for the banquet facility. PIC will have an employee to become certified for the facility. New violation, correct by 01/08/2018. Observed rodents on a trap in the restroom that need to be removed. PIC will have the trap removed. New violation.

Carter’s Grill, 321 W. Highland Ave.

Score: 86 Grade: B

Violations: Observed tobacco products in an area used for food storage. PIC discarded the tobacco product. Repeat violation. Observed fume hood needs to be cleaned. Discussed the frequency of cleaning the fume hood. Repeat violation, correct by 11/16/2017. Observed an accumulation of dust on the fans in the walk-in cooler. PIC will have the fans cleaned. Repeat violation. Observed the exterior of the fryer and grill needs to be cleaned. Discussed frequency of cleaning with the PIC. New violation.

House of You, 1514 N. Slappey Blvd.

Score: 93 Grade: A

Violations: Observed wiping cloths not stored in sanitizer solution; PIC placed cloths in sanitizer solution. Corrected on-site, repeat violation. Observed cutting board grooved/pitted and no longer cleanable at prep cooler. PIC will have cutting board replaced. Repeat violation. Observed ceiling tiles in kitchen needs cleaning or replacing; PIC will have tiles replaced. New violation.

El Vaquero, 2700 Dawson Road, Suite 20

Score: 92 Grade: A

Violations: Observed crock pot item uncovered when not in use. Observed steam table area items uncovered when not in use. Discussed with PIC. Corrected on site with tinfoil and lids. PIC to ensure items remain covered when not in use. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed cloths for wiping counters and other surfaces in the establishment that were not stored in chemical sanitizer solution between uses. PIC placed wiping cloths in chlorine sanitizer @ 100 ppm as evidenced by EH test strips and will ensure staff continues to do so. PIC had QAC test strips on hand but is to purchase new chlorine test strips. Few chlorine test strips provided by EH to have on hand until PIC able to purchase the new container. Corrected on-site, repeat violation.

Michael’s Bar-B-Que, 2319 Gillionville Road

Score: 97 Grade: A

Violations: Observed wiping clothes used for wiping counters and other surfaces in bucket without sanitizing solution. Discussed with CFSM. Corrected on site with chlorine sanitizing solution mixed @ 100 ppm as evidenced by chlorine test strip. Corrected on-site, new violation.

The Mayberry Diner, 2349 Lake Park Drive

Score: 96 Grade: A

Violations: Observed cloths for dishwashing, wiping counters and other surfaces in the facility that were not stored in chemical sanitizer solution between uses. Discussed with CFSM. He removed the cloths and mixed up chlorine sanitizing solution @ 100 ppm as evidenced by EH test strips. Observed CFSM also has chlorine test strips on hand. Corrected on-site, repeat violation.

Violations: Raw shell eggs stored above ready-to-eat foods in reach-in cooler. Cooked beef steak stored next to raw animal foods in walk-in cooler. Butter stored next to raw shell eggs in prep line cooler. PIC separated raw animal foods from ready-to-eat foods in storage. Corrected on-site, new violation.
