DOUGHERTY
Sept. 13
Albany Moose Lodge, 407 Philema Road
Score: 92 Grade: A
Violations: Observed prepared food not marked with date of preparation or date for disposal; food was discarded. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed dust build-up on ceiling in kitchen. PIC will have ceiling clean. New violation. Observed floors underneath fryers needs cleaning; PIC will have floors cleaned. New violation. Observed pest activity; PIC will call certified pest controller to come out and spray facility. New violation.
Brick Oven Pizzeria, 2601 Dawson Road, Suite A-15
Score: 98 Grade: A
Violation: Observed cold water under pressure at the veggie sink and hot water under pressure at the three-compartment sink was turned off at the sink due to a leak. Discussed having leaks repaired with the PIC. New violation.
Remarks: Discussed time as a public health control procedure, wiping cloths.

Score: 96 Grade: A
Violations: Observed the nozzles on the drink machine not clean due to buildup. PIC had the nozzles removed and clean. Corrected on-site, new violation.

Albany State University/Student Center, 504 College Drive
Score: 89 Grade: B
Violations: Observed spinach, boiled eggs and potato salad on the salad bar being held above 41 degrees Fahrenheit. PIC discarded all of the food items on the bar. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed cold water not working at the pasta station. PIC will put in a work order to have the water repaired. New violation.
BJ’s Buffet & Catering, 2401 Dawson Road, Suite A
Score: 93 Grade: A
Violations: Observed ice machine nearest the front of kitchen not clean to sight and touch. Discussed that with PIC. Ice machine cleaned on site. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed utensils in the ware washing area that were not being sanitized due to ware washing machine not dispensing chlorine sanitizer. B.J. and Rose Mary present during visit to have ware washing machine serviced. Repeat violation. Observed outside waste receptacle (Dumpster) uncovered. Discussed with PIC who will have receptacle covered. New violation.
Remarks: Proper documentation of time as a public health control provided for salad bar items held on ice baths.
BJ’s Buffet dba Savoy Bistro & Lounge, 704 Radium Springs Road
Score: 89 Grade: B
Violations: Observed no hand soap at the employee handwashing sink. PIC replaced the soap at the handsink. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed no splash guard at the four-compartment sink behind the bar. PIC will have the splash guard installed. Repeat violation. Observed hot and cold water not working at the employee handwashing sink. PIC will have the sink repaired. New violation. Observed light not working in the walk-in freezer. PIC will have the light repaired. New violation.

Violation: Food employee poured wiping cloth solution into vegetable prep sink. EHS instructed PIC to wash, rinse and sanitize vegetable prep sink prior to using for fruits and vegetables. New violation. Correct by Sept. 15.
Remarks: Items to address before next inspection: digital thermometer.
MITCHELL
Sept. 14
Captain Don Porter’s Seafood Restaurant, 185 McLaughlin St., Pelham
Score: 99 Grade: A
Violation: Observed hand wash sink in prep area did not have a hand wash sign posted. New violation.
Remarks: Discussed new rules and forms, keeping tops of gallon oyster containers for 90 days, labeling of chemical containers and food containers, thermometers, posting of Servsafe certification.
