Pledge of Allegiance needs an adjustment

Dear Albany Herald Editor,
In President Joe Biden’s America, the words to the Pledge of Allegiance have become irrelevant.
A pledge worded to reflect the new America would be more appropriate. Thus, I pledge submission to the flag of the United States of America; and to the defunct Republic for which it stands; a divided nation without God, with restricted liberty, and harsh justice for all the vaccine-hesitant.
