SHELLMAN — The Center for Art & Rehabilitative Energies is accepting applications to exhibit in the third annual exhibition of artists who live, study or work in Randolph County.

The 2016 exhibition presented the work of 17 of Randolph’s talented artists and crafters.

The exhibition, which runs for eight weeks, is designed to bring attention to the work of gifted individuals who live, study or work in Randolph County.

This year’s exhibition is scheduled to open at the center Sept. 10 and to be on exhibit through Oct. 29. An Opening Reception from 1-5 P.M. is planned for Sept. 10.

This invitational exhibition is being sponsored jointly by The Center for Art and the Randolph Arts Council. To participate, an artist must either live, study or work (full- or part-time) in Randolph County.

Artists and craftpersons who want to participate will need to fill out an entry form and submit it to The Center for Art by Aug. 15. All styles of visual arts and crafts are encouraged. The form is available either through visiting the center, which is open 1-5 p.m. weekends until July 2, or by requesting an entry form via email to [email protected].

Forms also can be picked up at Brumby’s Grocery Store and at The Back Porch Restaurant.

Each entrant is allowed to submit at least two works. Paintings, drawings, prints, collages, needlepoint, etc., must be framed and ready to hang. Three-dimensional works, such as stone, ceramics, wood, metal or fiber sculptural forms, must have their own presentation pedestal (the center does not have display pedestals or cases).

The work must be entirely original (not done in a school setting or from a commercial kit) and fully the work of the submitting artist. Mid-teens, adults and seniors are encouraged to participate.

Artists with questions can call (229) 679-5069 (weekdays) or (229) 679- 2070 (weekends). There is no entrance fee to show the work.

The current center exhibition, “Stars & Heroes” by Bill Lopa, is on view until Sunday.

The Center will be closed to visitors July 3 to Sept. 9 for “sprucing up” and installing “Artists of Randolph County III.”
