Rowe home named top yard for month of December

ALBANY — The residence of Ira and Nelle Rowe, 1804 Whispering Pines Road, has been named the top yard for December in the Albany area by the Daffodil Garden Club.
“This home caught my eye for its simple decorations that really make you look twice,” said Marideane Maxwell, chair of the club’s selection committee.
“Wreaths are hung on the windows and the circular drive is lined with small lights that outline the yard.”
The Daffodil Garden Club selects a yard each month that adds to the beauty of Albany. Club members say they hope the program will inspire others to add something to their homes that improves the appearance.
The club accepts nominations from the public. To nominate a residence, call (229) 436-6888 and leave a message. The club meets at 11 a.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Federated Garden Center at 808 Fifth Ave.
