I’m really disappointed in Michael Ferguson’s Saturday column. He’s seemed quite rational in past columns, but in this one he basically says we should respect Heard because he’s black. Sorry, Michael, a person’s skin color does nothing to make them worthy officials. You failed here.
It was very sad to see so many gullible people admiring Bill Clinton yesterday at Mt Zion. These are the people who need the most help but always want giveaways.
For the pleasure of a free and dainty pastry given by a tyrant in the present day, a man will sell his freedom and his soul to a debt-burdened eternity. It is a poor man’s porridge or an Essau’s pottage kinda thing. Even still, American politics.
I can’t decide who’s a worse writer, B.J. Fletcher or Michael Ferguson. If you’re going to send in op-ed pieces to the paper, please do us all a favor and go take a couple of writing courses first.
It is amazing that as we pay very high property taxes and wild people drive down Gillionville or Dawson road at 90 mph with no police ever stopping them. When have you seen a cop stopping someone for speeding or driving violations? It seems like it is a thing of the past.
Bill Clinton’s surprise appearance in Albany Sunday was a thrilling opportunity to hear the words of the last president (probably ever) to balance our country’s budget and actually bring in a surplus.
Albany would be a better place if some folks used a glue stick instead of Chapstick.
What an interesting article about Gloria Gaines’ work against apartheid. Maybe that’s why she shows such a racist attitude in Albany; she’s so senile she thinks we’re South Africa. Wake up, Gloria. It’s 2024.
I watch a program called “Parking Wars” from Philadelphia and Chicago. I would like to see such a system come to Albany and teach some of these drivers the rules of the road. No one has any respect for vehicle rules in Albany.
If for every case of abortion the corresponding male was held equally accountable, the political issue of abortion would find a quick solution.
If you receive a citation for school zone violation, be sure to check the time of the violation. The state of Georgia states when a camera can be used, not the Albany Police Department. It states one hour before and one hour after posted school zone time. Albany tends to use their cameras way beyond these hours.
The main reason our car insurance is going up by huge percentages every year is all of these suing lawyers. I get ill every night watching their advertisements on TV. A bunch of vultures.
Anyone in Albany that thinks there isn’t enough affordable housing is kidding themselves. Rent here is the lowest in the Southeast. If you aren’t a senior citizen and can’t pay your rent, that means you need to get a second job like the rest of us and stop complaining. The government owes you nothing.
I’m proud of Commissioner Gloria Gaines’ work against apartheid and her editing Thandi’s book. I’m very interested in this era: Where can I find a copy of the book?
