Thanks, Oxford Construction and city of Albany, for doing a great job on the repaving of Dawson Road near Meredyth. It’s nice to see a vendor take our tax dollars and do a high-quality job for once. There are so many low-bid crooks that our Public Works and clueless commissioners seem to love to hire.

Saturday’s front page had three exceptional stories, one by each of the Herald’s writers, stories that we wouldn’t know about without the work of these journalists. Thank you, Albany Herald staff, and Merry Christmas.

I see that Phoebe Real Estate is selling the old Bruno’s site they bought many years ago. I guess that property has been off the city/county tax digest for all those years; probably valuable property when they bought it, not so much so now.

Well, B.J. and members of the Citizen’s Council persist in trying to resurrect her from the dung heap of failed Albany political figures. Let’s help her fail again.

i sent a donation to Tunnels to Towers. I received a cap back from them with a Made in Vietnam label inside. Are the people running that organization crazy? I am a Vietnam vet. That is like sending a cap made in Iraq to a Desert Storm vet.

While celebrating the king of the world during the Christmas season, don’t forget to pay tribute to the Real President, who will take his rightful throne as the world’s most important man in January.

Officials with the city of Albany should be ashamed of the lies they’re trying to peddle while spending tens of thousands of our dollars to try and cover their lies in relation to their dishonest dealing with Rails to Trails. I believe you’ll dig up those utility lines like I believe Donald Trump is an American hero.

If you really want to feel the spirit of Christmas, instead of wasting money on gifts that will remain in closets until tossed out or sold in yard sales, why not buy some gifts or do something nice for families that truly need your help? I guarantee it will make your Christmas meaningful.

To start a fire in your fireplace: Wad up newspapers and place on bottom area, top with plenty of pinecones, and put on firewood. Best ever and cheap.

I agree, Fletcher, that there are no really great men or women in today’s world, but you are wrong — as usual — about Trump. He will restore America’s greatness and go down in history as one of the greatest American presidents ever.
