Home of Arthur and Virginis Wright recognized with award
From Staff Reports
ALBANY — An Albany residence on Devon Drive has been selected as the October Yard of the Month by the Daffodil Garden Club.
Marideane Maxwell, chair of the club’s selection committee for the monthly recognition, said the 2307 Devon Drive home of Arthur and Virginia Wright is the club’s October showcase. The pastor and his wife reside there with their son, Adrian.
“If you have driven down Devon Drive, you could not have missed this outstanding yard at 2307,” Wright said. “It is a showstopper, and this palate has been completed since 1994 when the Wrights moved here.
“There was not much of a yard then, but with wonderful planning and work, it is now one that you will enjoy viewing.”
The Daffodil Garden Club recognizes outstanding “yardscaping” each month. Club members say they hope the spotlight on showplace residences will encourage others in the community to improve their homes as well.
The club meets at 11:30 a.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the federated garden clubhouse at 808 Fifth Ave. The club’s next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 20.
Maxwell said the club accepts nominations from the public for its Yard of the Month recognition. To nominate a residence for consideration, contact (229) 436-6888.
