Live music, from country to R&B to 80s rock is on tap this weekend in Albany, kicking off with a live concert outdoors for the monthly Fridays on the Flint series. Other events include an outdoor movie for kids and “Meet the City,” which will introduce Albany residents to the workings of their government and services it provides.

When: Friday, starts at 6 p.m.Where: Veterans Amphitheater, 100 W. Oglethorpe Blvd.Stephen Harrell & the Dusty Boots Band will be “ricking in the wild” for this free, family night on the Flint River. Through a partnership with Chehaw Park & Zoo, Thronateeska Heritage Center and the Flint RiverQuarium, the audience can interact and take photos with animals and exhibits. The city will outline the services it provides and highlight employment opportunities.Admission: No cost.
