Leap into the leap year month of February at one of the events going on this weekend. Whether it’s a bike ride, an early romantic Valentine’s Day dinner or a celebration of Black History Month, there’s something to do in the Albany area.

When: Starts at 10 a.m.Where: Downtown Thomasville and the Ritz Amphitheater.Spend the day in Downtown Thomasville on Saturday for the seventh annual Black History Month Parade and Celebration.The parade kicks off the event at 10 a.m. starting at the intersection of Broad Street and Washington Street and will travel down Broad Street and turn right onto West Jackson Street. At 11 a.m. the location shifts to the Ritz Amphitheater with food vendors, local performances, strolling and music with DJ Big Perk.

When: 7 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday.Where: Sherwood Church, 2201 Whispering Pines Road.Come enjoy the American classic, “The Music Man,” performed by Sherwood Christian Academy’s high school fine arts program.Admission: General seating $14, $16 for premium seating and $12 for 65-plus and groups of 10 or more (available at ([email protected]).For more information go to https://www.scaeagles.com/shows/.

When: Saturday, 8 p.m.-11 p.m.Where: 932 W. Broad Ave.This outdoor event will feature poets Trenda Band and Kierra Soft, with R&B singers Danny V and J. Gabrielle. There will be a free wine tassting, food by Chef Hazel and will include local vendors. Cash bar.Admission: $25.

When: Friday, starts at 9 p.m.Where: The Grille House, 105 W. Broad Ave.The Grille House is bringing a romantic setting to get an early jump on at the Pre-Valentine’s Day ball, with dinner, dancing and a jazz band.Admission: $12 (not including dinner).
