Two annual series will be cranking up this weekend. On Friday Fridays on the Flint will launch with its inaugural concert for 2024, and on Saturday the Tift Park Community Market returns bringing fresh produce, vendors and entertainment to Albany.

When: Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.Where: Tift Park, 1301 N. Monroe St.The first market for 2024 will bring shopping opportunities for fresh produce, food, crafts and entertainment.

When: 7 p.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday.Where: Peachtree Park in Doerun, corner of Peach Street and Union Drive.The annual Doerun Mayday Festival kicks off with the BBQ competition and DJ Smiles on Friday. On Saturday the parade begins at 10 a.m. and activities move to the park at 11 p.m. The festival features food, crafts, bounce houses, miniature golf, face painting, mechanical bull, cornhole and more, with a raffle and door prizes throughout the day and with live entertainment from 1 p.m.-11 p.m. The street dance begins at 8 p.m.Admission: No charge.For more information, go to: https://www.facebook.com/doerundda.

Area youth are encouraged to participate in the festival-sponsored parade along with the talent and poetry competition. Lane Theater, 313 Pine Ave.This Western blues night celebration is a birtyday bash for Larry Mallory where the artist will bring a western flare with favorite blues and Southern Soul. Wear your best Western attire. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.Admission: $35 for advance tickets, $40 at the door.
