One way kids can get lots of candy and enjoy a safe Halloween is to come to the parking lot beside The Albany Herald at 306 West Broad Ave. Saturday from 5-6:30 p.m. for a trunk or treat event. Albany Police Department officials will be on hand to make sure the event is a fun and safe one.

Albany Herald staff and a number of businesses and individuals will set up candy stations for the free event, ensuring that there will be plenty of sweet treats to go around. A kids costume contest can win prizes for participants.

So make sure your little ghoulies have a safe Halloween and get enough treats to last them at least until Thanksgiving. Bring them to the Herald parking lot Saturday for some good, old-fashioned family fun.
