Albany man wins $1 million in lottery

ALBANY — Earl Davis of Albany has won a $1 million prize playing the holiday-themed Jingle Jumbo Bucks, a new Georgia Lottery instant game. Davis, 71, purchased his winning ticket at Homerun Foods Express, 1105 N. Westover Blvd. in Albany.

Davis claimed his prize Oct. 22 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.

“I scratched the ticket at home,” he said. “I was happy. I didn’t jump up and shout, but I was happy.”

Retired 15 years from working for the Miami-Dade Transit in Florida, Davis has four adult children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

“I want to give my children some money,” Davis said in plans for his winnings.
