ALBANY — There were two trials undergoing jury selection on Monday, including a murder case, Dougherty District Attorney Greg Edwards said.
The murder case involves Tara Lee Herrell and Louis Floyd Jr., both of whom were allegedly involved in the stabbing death of a 54-year-old man, later identified as William Jackson, at the Dollar Inn at 2706 N. Slappey Blvd. on Aug. 14, 2013.
Police said warrants for murder and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime were taken out against Floyd and Herrell after Jackson was found unresponsive.
Edwards also said there is a rape and false imprisonment trial against Lawrence Brown scheduled to be conducted this week. Originally tried last year, the case is undergoing a retrial after the first trial resulted in a hung jury, Edwards said.
