Albany police seek auto shop burglar | VIDEO

ALBANY — Albany Police Department detectives have made available a surveillance video as part of an investigation of a recent auto repair shop burglary.

Cheryl Buford, manager of Albany Auto Service, 1305 W. Oglethorpe Blvd., told officers that around 8 p.m. on July 23, she noticed the front window on the west side of the building was open. Buford also stated that a blue SunTrust Bank money bag and a bowl with around $5 in loose change were missing from a desk drawer.
A responding officer stated that he found pry marks on the window frame, but an attempt to lift fingerprints from the window and desk were unsuccessful.
A surveillance video from the business appears to show an unknown black male dressed in white tennis shoes and black shirt and shorts walking to the window around 12:46 a.m., then leaving the business around five minutes later and walking east on Oglethorpe Boulevard.
