Albany State Lady Rams overpower Stillman in the second half

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —The Albany State Lady Rams used a big second half to defeat Stillman College 68-62 and advance to the SIAC semifinals today.

Stillman actually led 32-25 at the half and 38-28 with 17:09 left but the Lady Rams went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to two. ASU tied the game at 44 with 8:49 left and from there, went on a 12-4 run to seal the victory. They outscored Stillman 43-30 in the second half.

Ieshia Young was the leading scorer for Albany State with 18 points followed by Artisha Holston with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Keidra Green added 15 points.

Albany State shot 44.9 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from behind the 3-point line and 56.4 percent from the from the free throw line.

The Lady Rams will take on Kentucky State, a team they fell to 61-52 earlier this season. Tip off will be today at 3:30 p.m.
