Albany Town Hall meeting to address West Nile virus and rabies

ALBANY — A program addressing West Nile virus and rabies is planned for Saturday at the East Albany Community Center, 1721 E. Oglethorpe Blvd.

Albany Ward I Commissioner Jon Howard said attendees of the meeting will hear Dougherty County Environmental Health Manager James Davis give tips on protecting you and your family from West Nile virus and rabies and the steps to take in case of exposure to either of the diseases.

According to Howard, topics will include an overview of West Nile and how it spreads, and what to do if someone in your family is bitten by a wild animal.

The free presentation will begin at 10 a.m., Howard said, and last about 90 minutes.
